age 52; certificate says mother Rose, father Edward Hebden Brodribb, but these
seem wrong Edward Hebden BRODRIBB and Elizabeth COX were married in 1860 in
Canton, Victoria, Australia.31,32 She married as Elizabeth Woollard
and was a widow. Certificate says she was married at Canton (which is in the
Ararat goldfields) "in the tent of a friend according to the rites of the
Wesleyan Church". Elizabeth COX was born on 12
Dec 1835 in Sydney, Australia.33
She was christened on 7 May 1837 in Sydney.33
She died on 17 Sep 1908 in Horsham, Victoria, Australia.33 First marriage was 1853 to Samuel William Woollard
1831-1859, and much of the information about both her marriages is from a descendant

He died from football injuries. In Victoria bmd index he appears as Hy Hobden
Brodribb, son of Edwd Brodribb and Elizth Cox, died 1900 no 7169. John Wyndham's
mother kept a newspaper cutting from "The Mail" (probably the Ararat
or Nhill newspaper) saying he had an accident playing football for Nhill football
club at St. Arnaud one Saturday and died the next Saturday, buried in Ararat
cemetery on Tuesday. He was a prominent member of the fire brigade, which sent
a wreath. Paper mentions his sister Mrs Lawson and his brother Mr J Brodribb.
He was buried in 1900 in Ararat, Victoria, Australia.40 see note for death He was born in VIC, AUS. |
