6. Sophia Lloyd EXCELL was christened on 16 Apr 1827 in Warminster.⁽⁵⁾ married twice in Australia, no children. Melbourne Fred. Excell stayed with her
(known as Auntie Weaver) at St Kilda in his bachelor days.

She was married to William MERIFIELD (son of Christopher MERIFIELD and Jane SNELL) in 1863 in Victoria, AUS.⁽²⁴⁾ William MERIFIELD was born in 1837 in St Austell Cornwall. He died in 1882 in Melbourne.⁽²⁵⁾ age 46, from T.B. He was buried in St Kilda, Melbourne. He was a farmer. Lived in Melbourne, had a property on the Yarra river with an orchard, big aviary and seagulls in the garden; described by MFW Excell to his daughter Lorna. emigrated to Australia to his brother Christopher 1858. Wrote a diary of his 3 month voyage on sailing ship to Melbourne, aged 21. Copy sent by Lorna Beecham to Truro. Diary with Vivienne Allan (mother was niece of Merifield).
