HENRY" son of Henry Hawgood and Anne Morris He was born in 1812. In 1834 he was a farmer in Dale, Pembs..² D/RTP/LP 35 at Pembs RO dated 16 April 1834 is lease of The Balls, Dale, to
John Hawgood and Mary Hawgood, widow He immigrated between 1834 and 1843 to Canada. Various records in Ontario eg 1871 census show him born Wales, some show his father born England and mother born Wales. It seems very likely that the John Hawgood baptised in Dale Pembrokeshire in 1812 is the one who appears in Canadian records as born Wales about 1812 He appeared in the census in 1861 in Howard, Kent county, Ontario, Canada.³ Agricultural census gives details of landholding and crops. He farms 50 acres. He appeared in the census in 1871 in Howard, Bothwell, Ontario, Canada.⁴ Family name appears as Hawgwood in Ancestry transcript. His age is shown as 61. He has wife Jane, and 11 with same surname (his children?) age 3 to 28. Elizabeth 28, William 23, Eliza 22, Ann 18, Sarah 16, John 14, Addeline 12, Henry 10, Thomas 9, Matilda 6, George 3. He is reference number 1331.

John Hawgood and Jane Weldon were married. Jane Weldon was born about 1826 in Ireland.⁴ John Hawgood and Jane Weldon had the following children:
